This week I would like you think about how we look at energy in the atmosphere. Please answer these three questions below and give you reasons for your answers:
1. Which day do you think the individual molecules of the air will have the largest amount of average kinetic energy in our air?
2. Which day will the air have the largest amount of kinetic energy that can be turned into wind power?
3. What is the difference between heat and temperature?

heat vs. temperature
Heat is the amount of energy in a system. Temperature is the measure of the average molecular motion in a system.
Forecasting KE
Wed will be the wartmest day this week so I think it will have the highest molecular kinetic energy. Maybe Friday will be the windiest day of the week so Friday will have the highest wind KE.
KE
I think the highest molecular KE will be on Thurs when we will have the highest temperature. I think Fri will be the windiest day so the highest wind KE.

Kinetic Energy
The day with the highest temperature will have the highest molecular kinetic energy. I think the warmest temperature will occur on on Wednesday. I think we will have the highest wind on Friday with highest wind energy.
Kinetic Energy
I‘m not sure how I would know what day would have the highest molecular kinetic energy. But I think Thursday would have the highest wind and highest wind kinetic energy.
Molecular KE
I think the highest molecular energy just means the temperature is the highest.
